Coral reefs are among the most diverse ecosystems on Earth, supporting a quarter of all marine species. They also protect coastlines from storms and sustain fishing and tourism industries. However, rising sea temperatures and ocean acidification are causing widespread coral bleaching, threatening these vital habitats and the communities that depend on them.
